Welcome to Tree House Creations
My aim is to create and collaborate with Australian artists, authors, and craftspeople to supply unique quality handmade Australian products for adults and children with an emphasis on personalised custom products, aromatherapy, education, mindfulness and incorporating unique artwork from Australian Illustrator Cat MacInnes.
I am a Mother, Grandmother, CFA Volunteer, Educator, Wildlife Supporter, proud Australian, Traveller, Photographer, Art appreciator and Humble Creator living life to its fullest in the Victorian Dandenong Ranges.
I have lived across QLD, NSW and VIC in small towns, bush towns, cities and now the hills of Melbourne and recently have travelled around Australia. I am passionate about Australia it’s landscape, history and indigenous culture and I hope this is reflected within my store with Australian Handmade products from my local community, showcasing Australian artists, authors and craftspeople. Our online store aims to source everything from products to packaging from within Australia that are Eco friendly and as sustainable as possible.
I am a qualified early childhood educator; primary and secondary teacher and I am passionate about educational toys and gifts for children. I also hold huge importance on teaching them about our country and culture while teaching them how to look after our eco system.
After a shoulder op in Oct 2019. I was unable to help my community in my role as CFA Volunteer when the fatal “Black Summer Fires” ravished our drought-stricken land and wiped out so many of our precious and vulnerable wildlife. I felt helpless! I saw a post, a cry for help for any crafters to sew pouches! I thought what great therapy for my recovery and pulled out my sewing machine that was gathering dust. I started sewing pouches, bags and bat wraps. My community donated so much material for the cause and we helped numerous shelters and carers as they worked endlessly to save our wildlife.
Since the fires this reignited my passion for creating and found myself sewing for other friends and family. Then along came Covid-19. Word got out and friends of friends started asking for masks and the result was over 1500 masks made in less than 3 weeks! With the downturn of job opportunities, it was time to take the leap and branch out with Tree House Creations. The name seemed an obvious choice as I live amongst the tallest flowering gums in the world – The Mountain Ash.
